1914 Now : Four Perspectives on Fashion Curation

1914 Now

Catalogue to accompany the film installation and collaboration between fashion curators and filmmakers which explores distinct approaches to the discipline of fashion curation through the lens of modernity in 1914.

£10 inc. P&P

Detailed Description

Curator and commissioner, Alison Moloney, invited four curators with distinct approaches to their discipline to respond to the brief Fashion and Modernity 1914. Instead of working in traditional museum contexts the curators collaborated with filmmakers to realise their response.  Walter Van Beirendonck + Bart Hess, Amy de la Haye + Katerina Athanasopoulou, Judith Clark + James Norton and Kaat Debo + Marie Schuller.

This catalogue documents the commission and includes essays by the curators, critics of the avant-garde and architecture historians and practitioners. Alongside the curators, contributing writers include Kurt Vanhoutte, Giovanni Lista, Tom Coward and Timothy Brittain Catlin. This project was inspired by Rem Koolhaas’s brief to the national pavilions in the Giardini of the Venice Architecture Biennale - Absorbing Modernity 1914 to 2014. 1914 Now launched in the gallery Spazio Punch in Venice and online at SHOWstudio in November 2014.
