Lead-free alloy, suited for casting of detailed pieces where a bright polished finish is required. Suitable for small sized models. Always dust the mould with talc before casting and pour metal in one fluent action without a break. Allow sufficient time for metal to set before removing from the mould. Beware even the mould can become very hot. Do not attempt to water cool, and do not pour hot metal into damp or wet moulds. Pouring temperature 290 – 320°C approx.
- Materials can only be purchased from eStore by CSM students, on the day of their booking, to be used in the casting workshop at L008.
- Students are not permitted to purchase materials from eStore for use outside of the workshop.
- Technicians should be consulted before purchasing materials from the eStore.
- Please show proof of purchase receipt to the technicians before collecting the purchased materials.
