The Post-Internet issue explores the web’s influence on our culture and society, as well as the catalytic role it is playing in radically developing the fashion industry. We delve into the belly of the data beast which is being fed with every engine search and online transaction. We consider how social media has affected visual and community culture while providing visibility for minority groups, as well as the role of apps in dictating body image and destigmatising viruses. And we explore the fantastical realms of virtual realities, nanotechnologies and smart textiles while anticipating the future of fashion education, design and retail. ‘Post-Internet’ refers to an internet state of mind and this issue provides much to think about.
The magazine is filled with amazing work from students and alumni. A worthy showcase for the fantastic emerging talent coming out of LCF.
